Shadow did a great job of saving the engine from catastrophic failure!
Gasket wasn't blown through but some carbon into the water jacket.
No damage to rings, bores or head face.
Daves call was get the head rebuilt so it's at MR.
Without an engineers straigt edge or training in using a dial guage for this, we used the Mk 1s, a steel rule and feelers to show 2/5ths of bugger all wear (other than expected for a high k engine).
Cheers, BDave

Digger, the 9" didn't work: the turbo kept getting in the way. 5" worked out OK.
Sparks, BDave bent the torque wrench and Shadow was the official photographer.
