Boston Marathon

The London Marathon is in a week or two, so far , As far as I know, no group has claimed responsibilty, even though a Saudi Arabian national is under guard in hospital. There are suggestions that because the bombs exploded with white smoke, & the explosions were relatively small, they did not contain plastic explosives. There is a group of US citizens, of middle eastern extraction, that has a website, in the middle east, called " make a bomb in your Moms kitchen". What does it mean for Australia? perhaps unprecedented security at large gatherings of people. Time will tell, but we should not panic, Bob

There are reports that they picked up a Saudi and there are some that are quite specifically saying at they have not. Likewise the death numbers vary between 2 and 12, but including an 8yo. Injuries apparently have included limbs being blown off a person or some people.

Alan Jones suspects it's foreign, radical left wing students according to the tv this morning. No evidence, just a hunch I think. His advice is to keep those types out of Australia. Make of that what you will.

from what has been reported of the bombs they seem to come straight out of the anarchists cook book allan jones might be right:p

They found part of one of them (allegedly) as being part of a pressure cooker.
Ball bearings, bits from home, I'd say it's more likely to be domestic rather than international.
A terrible event none the less, some pretty powerful images coming from it.
And of course they're going to pick up the Saudi chap.
He could have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time, but because of our perceptions of these attacks, he'd be in the spotlight one way or the other.
