1 PM today was like a new dawning after a nuclear holocaust

Exactly at 1 pm today I was driving along and there were people lined up at the door of Woolies, the single file queue must have been 50 meters or more long! and stretched into the car park. Not one day can public go without a shopping fix.
It looked like they were lost souls, coming up from underground for the first time to breathe the air after a nuclear holocaust

I do not understand why people need to shop everyday and if there is ever a public holiday they all go mad.when my parents were together my mum shopped once a week. now that she lives in town she shops 5 days a week. so stupid but hey that is another story.

Our regular shop night is Wednesday, so we were outlast night on a normal forage for food. Was busier than a normal Wednesday night. Why ?, most are open later today any way.

crazy I had to dive up Doncaster road today about 1.00pm. It was worse then peak hour traffic, trying to get into the shopping centre.
Melbourne surely can't be that boring, most be something better to do?.
    Maybe there was a sale?.

I know what you mean. There was barely any cars on the road here today, but the two places that were packed were the RSL Club (understandably) and Coles ...

    We shop daily....

With our rosters we were wasting a lot of good food. So now we just go buy what we want to have that evening.

We do however keep some frozen produce for public holidays etc.

Having said that, the shop is a 5 min walk.
