Dog basher jailed for three months
    Source ABC:

A man who bashed a dog with a pole and suspended it on a clothesline has been jailed for animal cruelty offences.
When police and RSPCA inspectors arrived the dog was lying motionless in a pool of blood and was taken to an emergency vet clinic in a critical condition.

The dog suffered rib fractures and head trauma as well as shock and stress, but made a full recovery.

Just what the hell is this person doing unsupervised with ANYthing/body???? What happened if he was around a screaming baby????
Not seeking or receiving medical help and medications for a serious mental illness is just as criminal as commiting the crime IMO. And before anyone has a hissy fit I know all about this type of thing

    Shudder.

They say that peoples treatment of animals reflects their treatment of people or is a sign of what is to come. This is one character that the police should be watching for assult, domestic violence etc.

My suggestion is they shouldn't have to be monitored, because we all know THAT won't happen. They should be either placed away from the ability to cause injury etc to others, or properly medicated and thoroughly 'tested' prior to release into the public. No I am not an extremist, I am just sick of the excuses and hand wringing AFTER the event about how this person or that person was hard done by and has suffered at the hands of others, like it is a valid excuse to commit further crime and suffering to others. Recently there have been 2 situations where a mentally ill family member has killed their parents in a horrific way, and then we find they have had this problem for years, like a ticking time bomb. Most of these horrific crimes could've been prevented in my opinion.

It is very strange I think that a person with obvious problems has nothing done about it because of his "rights"! What about the rights of family and general public to live without a threat of a nutter ticking away in the background! Most of these cases have had signs for years of very antisocial behaviour. Makes me sad!

You would be horrified to find out just how many people are in the community and are on the edge on a daily basis. The current pressures on society are showing more and more the results of this. Senseless assaults, suicides, murders, drug and alcohol abuse and the worst part is the 'system' doesn't help prevent it and when they commit an offence they are gently told not to do it again and let loose on society again....heaven help us it's gonna get worse

You can tell alot about a person by the way they treat those not at their level, but perhaps below them.
I think we've all worked out as much as we need to on this particular person
