That philosphy was essentially true up to WWII, but after that event and the establishment of the United Nations the World community has strongly resisted the acquisition of land by invasion.
Despite its initial terrorist actions against the British, Israel was established by a motion on the floor of the United Nations. What hasn't happened is Israel respecting it's territorial borders and also what the UN hasn't done is to compensate the Palestinians for the loss of their territory.
IMHO until compensation is paid to Palestinians who were displaced, Palestine is given full UN participant status as an independant state and the Israelis start respecting their territorial borders this conflict will continue to have cross border incursions and attacks by both sides.
If we can get those three issues settled we can maybe take on the militancy and terrorism of Hezbollah and Hamas by international actions rather than by the Israelis which only escallates the conflict.
On the intelligence services, the Iraq Gulf War MkII, it had been a stated aim of Donald Rumsfeld that the Iraqi oil was rightfully US oil, the supposed intelligence used to justify the invasion was only finding an excuse to complete the strategic aims of Cheyne's Halliburton Corp and the Bush's Carlyle (Oil) Group which included the Saudi's and the Bin Laden family.
Israel had gone to the UN on multiple occasions since the first Arab-Israeli war in 1948 to try to stop the violation of the armistice. Syria had been using the strategic advantage of the Golan Heights by shelling Israel for many years. Israel made one final plea to the useless buggers at the UN in October 1966, before launching their attack in June '67.Quote:

Compensation? Why? The state that is Israel, not the fringes aquired through kicking the arabs up the bum, was bought, yes bought as in moneys was paid to the Owners, from Arab landowners who were only too willing to take the money because they thought that they would be able to kick the jews out after a while and regain control. The British and european powers assisted in the setting up of a govt after the land had been bought. Most of the money came from Germany as reparations and from wealthy Jews in America.Most of the Arab nations at the time were not worried it seems about the jews arriving because there had always been Jews living all over the Arab world.
The trouble started when the erstwhile owners decided they wanted their land back and instigated the uprisings which soon escalated into what we see today. Needless to say the Landowners were influential in the various Govts .
Sadly this history has been lost in the years of maelstrom since :( As is so often the case with the true reasons behind any inter tribal warfare. And yes the reasons about giving land back is the same as us handing ours back to the "Original" Bloody NIL!!

That is not completely true, particularly for properties in the cities, Arabs who could have stayed but feared the actions left their homes hoping to return after hostilities died down. When they did try to return they find hebrew families living in their homes who claim they are only doing the same as what happened to them in Europe.
The settlements in East Jerusalem and elsewhere in Palestinian territories are uncompensated and neither are the Palestinian farmers who find their orchards and farms on the opposite side of the barrier wall.
Don't get me wrong Israel has a right to exist and live in peace, but there must be an alternative to this cycle of tit for tat destruction, where all the actions of both sides are seen as retaliation for some previous action of the other.

If you have, or are lucky enough to visit Israel, you will find it a far removed country from that the news services show, as removed I assume as East London is. Many Arabs live side by side with Jewish neighbors, share their history, eat and drink coffee together and live in peace. But some, on both sides, find this hard to do. Extremists on both sides need to be controlled, I agree, but interference by outside Arab countries that themselves do not want the Palestinians living amongst them and have their own agenda will never bring peace to the region. The arming of terrorist organizations such as Hammas and Hesbollah will only bring a forceful reply from Israel. I find it strange, why, that on this same forum a couple of weeks ago, the shooting down by Israel of a Hesbollah drone that flew over Israeli air space never got a mention;);)Quote:

I'm glad that they get the miltary support that they have. If you read about what Israelis believe (google it, take the time to read it) you will understand how corrupt christianity became for their leaders and their armies to survive.
