You've got to laugh when people spew nonsense like the comments about the Series 2a's

I'm a road builder by profession and I've read most of Len Beadell's books, mostly out of professional interest. What people don't reasilse is that Series Land Rovers where the first vehicles to travel the length and breadth of Australia and Len's boys built the roads we know today behind him!

Imagine doing the Canning or Gun Barrel driving in the bush next to the road for the whole distance! While you at it, turn around every 5 kilometers and do the section again. Repeat this over a 6 month period!

His stories are not Land Rover chronicles, but reading what loads he carried and the distances he covered while driving them you've got to have new respect for the humble old leafer...

I too have read a few of Len's books, quite entertaining! And come Christmas time they'd just drive down their newly made road back to their families. Don't remember any mention of the return journey being any drama whatsoever. Yet most of those "roads" the advertorial shows and publications portray as some sort of pioneering adventure nowadays. Would love to see Mr 4x4 drive the length of the gunbarrell in a S1.

I watched one episode the other day to test how good old man emu suspension is they did a huge jump in a patrol busted the wheel and bent the front diff I was lost for words on the stupidity

So the wheels and diff are used to absorb the shock on the suspension? :D

I too lost an hour watching this :censored: crap, all it is are infomercials, no doubt it's a nice earner for the producers !

Have you noticed how the presenter on 4wd Pro Tips speaks in "staccatissimo" rather than a smooth delivery of dialogue.

Now that you mention it, yes.

That sort of delivery lends itself to being sent up with only a tiny amount of exaggeration needed to make it sound ridiculous.

I saw a very amusing sketch on TV once making fun of that style.

Shows why amateur presenters don't really work - but then it is an amateur show.

I never knew there was a word to describe. Talking like a tard. We only get pro tips here I have never seen the other shows the bloke does maybe there better
