And the Phase 4 engines went into LTDs (and possibly Landaus), and the very ones who stopped the public getting the engine in a Falcon had them in their Ministerial cars (for a couple of years anyway until the vehicles were auctioned - still in demand today).

Does that look like a conspiracy?

And..... If it were not for Hitler we certainly would not have VW's or Porsches, Let alone BMW's , and for that matter probably not even have LandRovers because there would have been no WW2 as the Wilkes Bro's would never have had a GPW to improve, or no surplus WW2 Aluminium to build it from !!!!

Even tho second to Gengis Khan, Hitler was the most Evil guy in history !!

oh and most of us would not exist either, because there would be no Baby Boomers !!

Yes, easily. It doesn't have to lock onto anything, it just takes a very high res photo when it is tripped. there is a lot of detail, and the software would bring up a number plate within a few moments. But it is just as easy to avoid the speed cameras along there. They would have just had to be careful and pull over for a bit before getting to the next camera, as they all monitor point to point average speed along the Hume in Vic.

I find that I tend to speed along there just before the exit I am using as I know the point to point cameras are redundant then. Maybe they were having a fang before their exit...

For privacy reasons the images on the point to point cameras are deleted quickly if there no match of a number plate within a defined period (so they say), so they may get away with it. The Police have said they are going to check camera footage - not sure which cameras though. If they get done for pics from the point to point cameras, then the privacy the State Gubment claim is obviously garbage...

If governments were serious about speeding why don't they mandate through ADR's, that all vehicles be speed limited.

They would get slaughtered at the next election is why...

Also, easy enough to mandate it in new cars, but you would be looking at 10 years before there were enough new cars on the road with that tech to make a difference.

If they mandate this, I'll never buy another new car... I wouldn't be the only one. The gubment is trying to get older cars off the road - speed limiting cars would reverse this trend quite a bit I would think...

I can see no problem riding on the Hume at that speed as long as the rider knows what he is doing and is looking far enough ahead.
When I had road bikes I regularly road them them at 2.5 times the legal limit (that was about as fast as it would go) when I knew I would not be caught. Did Melbourne to Townsville in 2 days with no riding at night and only one fine in Northern NSW (my mate got the fine because he was in front by a couple of bike lengths). The cop was using a mobile radar which we did not have in Vic. When he asked where we had come from and we said Melbourne he just shook his head, dropped the fine to 130 kmh and said have a good holiday. There are/was some good police about.

I'm a bit torn on this one.........

That is the type of thing I would have done as an irresponsible teenager many years ago (I only managed 135 mph on the dual-carriageway out of Exeter), however if I ever caught my son doing the same he would get a 'red-arse' for a week or more !

Double standards along with the benefit of hindsight.......ooooh yehhhh.

    Problem with that is,

Fatique works like fuel consumption. The faster you go the worse it gets.
