    It finally happened!!

NO! NOT THE LANDY! Our 30 + year old crock pot finally expired. I am starting to miss the slow cooked beef or chicken etc with loads of veges and yummy gravy in the bottom. Oh well. I suppose I had better go and buy a new one. Jim

Go to your local 2nd hand place as they usually have a couple of the old breville/ kambrook cookers there.

we updated ours with a larger oval shaped one (kambrook?) and have been wrapped with it, makes so much more. And wasn't overly expensive.

I haven't tried the cast iron pot one but if they are good it would justify the extra expense.

Nothing better than getting home to a nice cooked meal, meat falling off bones and the house smelling great!

Ours was a Wedding present, 38 years ago, died last month, now we have a bigger one, with a ceramic insert, that you can take out & place on the table, as a serving dish. It even has a keep warm function! How long has this been going on. [ A certain large store, not involved with the wool industry, has packets of jippers that really make the slow cooked meal tasty. Then again, you can buy Williams-Sonoma "essentials of slow cooking" , the slow cooking bible. Recommend it. Think it is published by Oxmoor House.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

We've got the same one, Digger. It's a very good size, and can fit half a cow in there. Well worth the $39 or so.

We have that one as well, big enough for 2 whole chooks or a large pumpkin soup, leg of lamb etc.
