Head out to the Airport, get on a plane to Melbourne. Its your best option...:D
Well! We are here, booked into a pub close to Darling harbour, just as well we don't suffer from vertigo, the pub has got this great big hole in the middle that you can lean over the rail and see right down to the reception area, way down below.
Travelled up in a A320, I wondered how the pilot manages to get the engines to run so smooth, as when they are out of sync when one engine is run up in speed compared to the other, all sorts of vibrations happen.
I couldn't get over the long queue in the Hobart Airport terminal building, especially as when you turn around and look out the plate glass windows, there isn't a soul around outside, maybe the queue is to condition you, lessening the shock of all those people that are going to confront you in Sydney.
First thing I noticed after getting out of the Sydney Air terminal was all the birds in a gum tree that is growing right in the middle of all things busy, couldn't see them at all but they sounded like small parrots. Oh yeah, nearly forgot and all those thousands of people, they must be from every corner of the globe.
So many people everywhere in the street in Sydney, all walking about and it is a Sunday! You could at midday on a Sunday, when in Hobart you could fire a shotgun down the Elizabeth Street Mall and even if you are lucky you would still only hit a couple of mallies.
Late model Merc's and Audi's with young drivers in their late twenties and too many to count were the shiny black Range Rovers with tinted winows. :o
After I deposit the wife at her training course tomorrow, I am going off road, onto the water and will be looking forward to a day at the Maritime Museum.
Catch you all tomorrow.
.
You are bored in Sydney you can play the game "spot the Aussie" in China Town :D
Hmm, some great ideas above, and things also come to mind (depending on what floats your boat):
- walk across the Sydney harbour bridge (can also catch the train)
- Catch a ferry from the city to Paramatta and back (I would not say there is much to do in Paramatta though, but still an interesting trip)
- Catch a ferry from the city to Manly and back

A ferry from Circular Quay to Manly and back is a must every time I make it down there
... but then water and boats are a bit of a novelty for us mob :D;)
Get hold of a Qld Maroons footy jersey & wear that around. A good way to break the ice & start up conversation with the locals! :)
Met this bloke yesterday with wood for brains, it seems he went into battle not very well armed and with a very one eyed view of things.

Two thirds around the 'Maritime Museum' yesterday and the back said that's enough.
Crawling inside "The Endeavour Replica" was not easy for this Rotund Rover fanatic.

My wife and I met up with my lovely niece Nat for a bite to eat at the 'Hard Rock Cafe', Nat loves her road bike with the same passion as yours truly likes his Landy's. She told me that the boys are impressed with her chicken strips ( or the lack of ). :eek2:
She doesn't ride into her work but takes the two hour train trip back and forth every day from Woy Woy into Sydney instead. :o I don't like the idea of travelling to Kingston from home because of the 45 minute trip during peak hour.
