I would absolutely love one of those ex army defenders. If anyone doesnt mind, how much do they go for and do they come up often?

Hi all,
The Landrover has arrived home and has joined its trailer and both are now civi registered. I took it for a drive on the weekend and we took some photos with my defender. I've attached a couple below. It runs beautifully, very tight to drive, was much better than I expected actually, asides from a dent in the right hand door column its pretty well damage free and I couldn't find any rust in the usual spots.
The new owner had a couple of questions he's asked me to pass on, firstly, what is the little drum in the third photo that points to the rear diff? and secondly, how hard would it be to obtain the bonnet tools?
Hi Dino,
No, the original ignition is still intact. Weeds; cheers, thought it might have been that, I wasn't in suitable clothing to get underneath and have a close look when I took the photo.
barker landrover and trailer.jpgRan into the 110 and no. 5 today, Had the candidate and his son and a former meber of parliament on the side of the road and as I drove past I got what I would describe as an almighty land rover wave!!
Went back and had a quick chat, nice people, nice bloke and spoke some good sense but was happy to talk landies and ex mil stuff as well.
Its a very nice unit only rebuilt shortly before sale so it is indeed like new, everything fixed, new bonnet, new g/box unit (I assume that inc t/case?) and a page of multiple entry per line small type modifications, repairs, or replacements. Answered questions about the no. 5, I like the way he has utilised the hood bow in situ so that he hasnt drilled holes etc in the no. 5 for the campaign.
Nice car. nice people. I had to go as I was headed to Loxton North for my sons footy (at arctic park!!!) and wouldve been late if I stayed longer.
Sorry the photo is out of focus, I didnt realise Id fluffed it until I got home later.. its a new camera and too smart for me
He seems to genuinely like the landy and trailer and I reckon it suits him.
(he knows the trailer ARN and the 110's ARN also)
Cheers
