They aren't going to get anywhere until they fix the breeding ground for the Test team, The Sheffield Shield.
There hasn't been many batsmen having 1000+ run shield seasons for years now.
Stop preparing purely result oriented pitches. It may be producing fast bowlers with great sounding figures, but they don't seem to be match fit to toil for long periods on an unforgiving surface without breaking down.
Get them tough and durable, that is both batsmen and bowlers before they get to the point of Test selection.
Get rid of that ridiculous Big Bash League also.
