I don't think it matters. The forecast isn't great.
I also think that MC's captaincy in general is more adventurous than Cooks.
I can totally understand however him wanting a substantial lead. 350ish, which is hard to get in a day. Australia need a win though.. the draw is no good. Cook in similar circumstances would probably bat all the way though till tea on day 5.. just to be sure!
If the light/weather/umpires hadn't decided to end play early there may have been a chance of a result (but it would have required a brave declaration) I think. Now, I cant see it being much other than a draw which is a disappointing end to what has been an interesting match.

It would have been such a good day 5 if they got to play every minute of it
Go the poms (oops did I type that out aloud)
Cricket? Has the cricket been on? Not a big cricket fan but from what I've seen on tv, it's the result our guys deserved, pendulum swings... Hope to see it swing back sooner rather than later though.
Won't hurt to see our team come a bit closer to earth and all, the superstar mentality isn't helping their performance in my opinion.
I reckon that looking at both team's 11 individual members as individuals, there is not a lot of difference between the combined talent of both teams.
It's just that the English are a better "Team".
Cheers, Pickles.
According to the ICC rankings, there's not a huge difference in the player ratings. Australia have one batsman (Clarke) in the top 10, compared to 2 for England (Bell and Cook). For the bowlers, there's 2 Aussies ( Siddle and Harris) and 3 English (Broad, Anderson and Swann).
In my opinion though, Watson has to go.
In my opinion, there are no "Outstanding" players in either team.
As an example, there are no "John Snows", in the English team, nor are there any "Dennis Lillees" in the Australian team.
As a matter of interest, the Englishmen have not had anyone close to Snow, sinse his premature, "sacking", by the English "Establishment".
Cheers, Pickles.
