Lordy, that was tough going today...

Had my family sitting about and was trying to explain the finer points of the game, and show them how entertaining test cricket can be - not the day to try that though with such a low run rate...

Think I've lost them forever now...

Not for me, I enjoyed the contest, England were determined to last the day,
and at the end Pieterson did some gardening to make sure there was not an extra over. Why , he even got sick to make sure that happened. our bowlers were tested on a flat wicket, and passed the test. Why do you think that happened? not much to do with the ashes, but all to do with the next tour, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Cmon Bob, 67 runs scored in the whole 2nd session, and it started even slower than that in the 3rd, haven't heard 1 commentator say it was a day worth watching.

Ahh well atleast someone enjoyed it.

I thought the day was fantastic TEST cricket. Clarke put England in, only to be foiled by some very determined batting! When you insert a team you're looking for at least 3 wickets by lunch and all of them by the close.
If Australia aren't good enough to bowl England out, bad luck.
As an England supporter I think being 226 for 6 is far better than being 98 all out. (Last ashes boxing day test, anyone?)
IF England can keep Australia bowling for another session, or two, that would be a massive effort! (& a substantial amount of egg on Mr. Clarkes' face)
As for the commentators, I think they've forgotten what a test match is all about. A test of your skills over 5 days, whoever is best, and/or strongest, (usually) wins. As has been proven over the last 3 matches. Just because the runs aren't coming at 5 an over doesn't make it boring. There are 4 days to go!
If you want to see a faster run rate, the Big Bash is on a little later in the day..........................

    Too right Rohan!
This is what Test Cricket is all about for me...Bat v Ball (or vice versa) with all crickets nuances. Test cricket is about strategies to win the contest, not to keep the scoreboard attendants busy!

A few early wickets. looks like Australia will be batting soon.
My favourite thing about this test is that Bill is back in the commentary box. I hope Richie comes back soon

I agree with most of what you say ,BUT , from the time cook got out England seemed as tho they were playing for a draw. Just my view of course but the bowling wasn't that great all day.

Hopefully Warner and co will give the croud some entertaining sessions.

    Cheers Ean

well this game is going to be interesting.
our run rate and wickets are worse than England's.
