During our trip away the Minister for War and Finance (Nay) and the kids
(14, 10, and 7) insisted on playing the soundtrack ( 2 discs) of the

My musical horizons have been expanding rapidly over the past few months. Things I've been thoroughly enjoying in no particular order: (Note, I believe in listening to albums as a whole)
- Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
- Max Bruch - Violin Concerto No. 1
- Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
- Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F#A# Infinity
- Phish - A Picture of Nectar
- Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
- The Dave Brubeck Quartet - Live at Carnegie Hall
- Mastodon - Crack the Skye
- Beethoven - Symphony No. 5
- Sparkadia - The Great Impression
- Loon Lake - Thirty Three, and Not Just Friends
- The Whitlams - Eternal Nightcap
- Rush - Grace Under Pressure (and Moving Pictures and 2112)
- Scott Bradlee and Postmodern Jukebox - Introducing Postmodern Jukebox (the only way I can stand the current generation of pop)
- Zebra - Zebra
- Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (and Dark Side of the Moon)
- Tchaikovsky - Symphonies 1-3
- Zach Hemsey - The Way
- The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
- Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
And something I have listened to for the first time tonight, and thoroughly enjoyed:
- Animals as Leaders - Weightless
This isn't going to be to most people's tastes, but here's my initial pick from that album. (It's instrumental progressive metal, if it helps you decide if you wish to have a listen...)

I've been enjoying this thread. I've picked up a few things I'd like to listen to in the future from it, which is great. Gerry Rafferty is one of them, and I think there were few other things as well, which have slipped my mind right now. I'm always open to suggestions.
Cheers,
Martin
