This one has significance for me. One of my early relatives was a Scot. on Yankee whalers. He jumped ship in Newcastle to make his way to Rockhampton to look for gold. No gold, but he found a wife. When on a RIMPAC trip to Hawaii one year, I made my way to Maui, Lahaina, where the whaling ships used to wait the season out. Had a rum for my kin.
