Join the move from government to non-government schools. The Newman Government's refusal to sign up for Gonski will inevitably mean state schools will become even more starved for funds, but the Catholics and independent schools have signed up, so they'll be pulling in the extra money, particularly if they are in disadvantaged areas.
Plus the non-governments have greater ability to boot out the troublemakers, so they can have fewer problems with fights, bullying etc. Not always true, but there does seem to be a trend there.
    Just a thought...

yes I used to be in private sector. And yes they normally have better behaviour, but the other side of the coin is that the school expects a fair bit more from you for the same dollar.

    Want to swap jobs?
I was camping for four days last weekend.
I'll be camping for three days this weekend.
I'd love to get into teaching.

Can't comment generally, but all I can say is my current job with an independent is a much better environment than any workplace I've ever experienced previously.

Not much. Cook my meals. Browse through a couple of magazines. Get driven around. Take a few happy snaps.
Camping is just the relaxing downtime from the rather hectic weekdays of preparing for the weekends and giving the people at Centrelink work to do.

I've worked in both. Comes more down to the individual school and the boss, more than being public or private (in my experience, anyway).
