Points are scored by passing a ball somehow between two uprights and not necessarily by kicking. Doesn't have to be a place or drop kick and there is no crossbar to clear. If the players can't kick then they get a consolation prize for missing. If a player manages to catch a ball (a somewhat necessary skill for senior footballers in my opinion) then they are allowed a free kick at goal. There is no tackling that any fan of either Rugby code would recognise as such. Bad handling is not punished so players may feel free to drop balls all over the paddock. No need for ball security as there are no consequences for being unable to catch or hold the ball. There is no offside, meaning it is not a team game and players are scattered all over the field playing almost one on one.
In Qld. during my youth Melbourne Football was known as girlball or queerball and considered a suitable game for girls and sickly children. The mere fact that the game originated in Melbourne ensured its status as a wimp's game.

    Bwahahahaha.

You may get a few antsy responses to that, Brian.

You might be right there Rick, I thought sickly children had to play soccer rather than AFL.

In my youth soccer was called wogball, and was played by new migrants mainly, hence the name. A game generally ignored by the old Australians. The phenomenon of the soccer moms who encourage their spoilt children to play soccer "so they won't get hurt" did not then exist.

A good mate played grade Rugby League for Souths and soccer for a western suburbs team. I can't remember what it was called as the soccer clubs have come and gone and changed their names myriad times. He reckoned he received more injuries playing soccer and getting the tripe kicked out of him than as a small halfback being set upon by big gorilla forwards in the biff and barge days of Rugby League.

Well, can you point out anything incorrect or untrue in my statement?

The ARU's trouble are that the best player they have is from RL in Israel Faluou.!!! This shows they have it wrong how they select and groom future players.
Hopefully RL will pay a few more dollars in the salary cap to keep these guys in our game and then let the other codes suffer. Go RL.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Me too, just because he is French![ not politically correct, but an eye gouge & squirrel grip would not be out of place.] We are united here, but you have to let all our blowins from other nations the right to mouth off. A bit sad , but we should be able to breed it out of them Bob
