    Thanks for that Digger.
It's interesting that it is a 2002 standard. I'll see if I can get a copy.
It's good that the design of safe bullbars is being encouraged rather than adopting the knee jerk reaction of banning them altogether. I wish I had had a bullbar on the Commodore when I hit that roo.

This ****es me off. I don't drive on the footpath. If pedestrians took those ipods out of their ears so they can hear, and looked for cars instead of texting when crossing the road, we probably would not be having this discussion.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

You gotta be fair on this one guys.... SOME pedestrians and SOME cyclists are... well lets just say "not on the list for survival of the fittest" Please don't lump everyone into 1 category. And you might not drive on the footpath, but I've seen it done....

And what about these new cars that you can't even hear running (read the likes of I30's etc) THEY are dangerous. There should be a minimum noise level ALL cars MUST reach, for the safety of others around, so you CAN hear them coming/running in car parks. Got beeped and abused the other day walking through a car park because some woman thought that I heard her car running....

Either that or just pay attention. Look first and then go, kind of thing?

And if a motorist abuses a pedestrian and, say, that pedestrian is me, I tend to start asserting my rights. Like the one that says motorists must ALWAYS give way to pedestrians...

The irritating point being that the actions of minority of people (errant pedestrians/cyclists etc) dictate the restrictions placed upon on the majority.

I have little interest in new build cars, so at this stage it doesn't affect me - but I still object to it.

    Matt.
