    How the other half drive...

(the other half being nissota drivers)
This is an extract from an email from a colleague who just got back from the Canning Stock Route:

We took 9 days to get through from North to South on the CSR...

...on two vehicles we had one wheel break off (at 110 kmph)...

...we had 4 shockies blow out and also had some wheel bearings go.

I never got up to 110 once on the canning!!!
This made me remember some europeans in a hired LC troopy who passed us on the canning. Despite them driving a leaf sprung vehicle with a higher CofG, I couldn't keep up (safely).

Even if you could, what is the point of driving a track like that at those speeds. It isn't a race... I would have thought you may want to see what is going on around you, not be fixated on the track because you're driving so fast. Why not just drive down the highway?

    Idiots.

If they'd had any sense, they would have analysed the situation after the first major failure and thought "are we doing this right?". After a second failure they should be thinking "we really are doing something wrong here".
