I've done a fair chunk of reading actually, I know you're a truckie (a least I think so?), but the reason I said it is because of the idiocy I see on the roads every day. Especially the idiocy that goes on between trucks and cars on Mount Ousley at Wollongong. I've watched a few lock ups at the bottom of that hill. And it's always the person too busy watching a GPS or speedo, instead of the road.

With regards to braking in front of a truck, I just threw him in the 'drive through the speedo' crowd. 130 is ridiculously low to limit a car, it will create massive dangers for overtaking and similar maneuvers.

I know trucks are limited to 100 (usually 108 in reality) as I've driven a few, albeit on country roads. It's not the trucks that cause accidents, it's stupid people getting into stupid situations in cars.

Had he said 180 I would have said fair game, in Aus at least, with our current infrastructure.

I would just like to say my defender trayback is known for transonic mach buffet particularly when passing the newspaper dodge going out of Orange to Parkes but the overnighters grey ghost is a bit harder to catch on the putty road. It goes ( the ghost ) around corners on 3 wheels, shockies must have gone...... Thats three wheels on one side.

Here is an example from last night for you Wed 18-9-13 ,Bruce Highway southbound from Caloundra,10.15 pm 110 klmh speed limit, nil traffic, and halfway between Caloundra and Caboolture sitting in the outside lane at 80kmph was the regulation bulge fronted motor home,came up behind it at 108 GPS,flashed my lights to overtake, but no, they just sat there,(so the inside lane is a slight bit rougher surface from the heavy transport),closed up behind them flashed again,no change so I stuck the H/lights on high (55/60 H4's) until they realised that there was a vehicle behind, they pulled left, I passed, and they returned to the right lane, there was more traffic coming up behind at that stage (big wheels), they obviously they were only interested in themselves and probably didn't need to be home within 24 hrs

130 is still twenty above the absoloute limit in every state and the limit in NT, passing or otherwise. The only danger it will produce is to the political party with the guts to introduce it.

Hey Ian! can you remember "Interstate Taxi Service" Sydney to Brisbane in Rambler Station Wagons and the Yellow Ipec & Purple Kwik-as-Air blokes, they were almost as fast as those Journos, but they did it in the 60's/70's same as "Upside Down Transport" do now

I well remember Kwikas and Comet et al, and occasionally giving them the hurry up in a 100mph capable White. The Ramblers must've been before my time.
