a problem I share with a lot of people is.....all the roadsigns are throwing back so much reflected light that they cannot be read..........I have 220mm 65watt lights and sometimes I dip down because the cascade of signs on bends or bridge approaches reflect so much light it almost hurts my eyes.

I was put off getting HID's as I thought my eyes were suffering from ageing ( I'm 61) and had real trouble adjusting from high to low beam when in other HID fitted 4x4's. So I'm really happy with upgraded lights with Cibie Inserts ( 100 watt high & a couple of cheapie 100w x 5" driving lights. I had a comment from a mate that they were better than his flash bang setup ( & a third the cost) for driving where you have to dip often. Personally I simply can't see for a second or so after dipping from really powerful high beams

havnt had that problem but it sounds like acoustic resonance, try poppinig to jaycar buying some ferrite rods or torriods and wrapping the power cable from the ballust to the light around it about 5-7 turns, ferrite is your friend when it comes to interference issues.

I run 35w 4300k Lightforce HID spotties, I don't think you need any brighter.

But be aware, if you get HID spotties, you'll then need to upgrade your headlights to a brighter globe, because the first time you run your HID spotties and then dip them back to your headlights, your eyes will take a while to adjust back to the yellow light of your Halogens, it's amazing the difference, instant blackout

Don't go too bright and get the Narva white light Halogens for your headlights, there's a range of them available from Supercheap.

    Cheers Baz.

Came across an obscure article regarding the Powers That Be and this problem....

Specifically, there's a move afoot to alter the angle of future reflective road signs to alleviate this issue. Seems that the number of OEM fitted HID / LED headlights is bringing this issue to light, - so to speak...

    - Never mind the growing number of idiots fitting evilbay kits....mis-aligned head and 'Banker' lights.

The great advantage of lower (more sane, IMHO) colour temperature lamps is less reflective glare from signage as well as road surfaces. Plus better foliage contrast.

My (deceased, R.I.P.) Mazda had 4000K HID's and they were worse,- but bearably so - than the standard halogens.
