yeh their around the corner from me, in Scumshine (sunshine) hahaha
When I purchased my Td5 about 15 months ago I started a thread on which oil. I have been using Western Oil for a long time, mainly oils for my lawnmowers and outboard oil.
I also get oil for my motor bike as they sell Elf, which I think is good.
Anyhow, Rick130 on hear is a bit of an oil guru. I think he has worked in the industry. I posted up the spec sheet on Western Oil and he found faults in it.
I then sent him a PM with a link to Gulf Western and below is his reply.
Yep, both look good on paper and are well priced.
The Euro Syn is about $10/drum cheaper than the Penrite equivalent I'm using ATM, so it's excellent value.
I wouldn't hesitate to use either oil in a Tdi or TD5, and they're much cheaper and better than using something like Mobil 1.
cheers,
Rick
This was good enough for me, and at $114 for 20 litres, to me is good value.
Here is the link to the thread I started. Read post 17 and 18 for Western oil opinion.

Dave.
I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
