And 50 miles an hour was Warp factor 9 !!!!
Ok Will. I was talking to the owner of the steamer. I asked him what its top speed was. Can you answer this?
I have a friend who owns an A model Ford, and there is no way this will do 100kph
Well! Blow me down!
.
All very nice, but the important question is: were the police there to inspect them all when they left? :p
Now, why is it with these very old cars that they always seem to be driven by the original owners?
Inspect them for what?
I thought it might be for checking for seat belts, and that SRS and ESC was working.:D
I'm assuming it's one of the Locomobile's, not a Stanley (steam obscures too much for me to tell), but they're a pretty slow old thing. That car would probably be happy at about 30 - 40km/h, maybe it could be pushed up to 60 with a full head of steam, but they can't generate enough to maintain this.
As to the A-Ford not doing 100... That sounds a little wrong to me... If its a V8 it should smash that.
They're on club rego anyway, it's up to club scrutiny as to what is road legal, and they only need to meet standards of when they were made...
I've never met someone that bought the cars new though... The newest car would be 95 years old anyway... Making the driver have to be over 112 to have even driven it new...
Cheers
Will
