Actually drink very little nowadays due to the heart problems I acquired last year. Doctor says, no salt, no grog, low fat diet. Bugger!

Over in NZ they have some nice stuff on tap. I liked it a lot hick , whilst touring there. No one drinks the export stuff we get.

Tried white rabbit white ale and dark ale, it's made by Little Creatures brewing Co. I found the Dark ale slightly to my liking, so will have to keep sampling, it just hasn't ticked all the right boxes for me that is.... so I'll have to invest more time in sampling others;)

You may like Sun Chaser Lager by Yatala Brewery. very smooth. Thought I would give it a go tonight, & it is quite good, very surprised by it actually.

XXXX Bitter stubbies(not cans). The one with the red label, tastes as good as the stuff that comes out of the tap.:beer:
It's sort of a cross between Boags premium and the the old Abbotts Lager.

If you don't mind Boags Premium, then you'll probably like XXXX Bitter.

I am a coopers fan and love coopers pale ale either on tap or stubbie

I also like stout and the coopers best extra is a real good stout with the burnt hopps flavor it is not liked by most as its a heavy stout with strong flavor buy a single stubbie to try it

But for a dark ale which I am also a fan of the coopers dark ale takes some beating its better than what the original tooheys old was before they changed it and it leaves carlton old for dead

But the best would have to be coopers vintage ale its a strong full flavor ale that is the pick of the crop but its not cheap

As for imports a mate got me onto Pabst Blue Ribbon ale in 16oz cans its a yank beer and dan murphys have it its a great drop which is hard for me to say about seppo beer :D

Boutique beers are not cheap so you need to get over it.

What I find amusing is the standard (SuperDry) Aussie beers can be more expensive than the Europeans, up here anyway.

Here's a couple of beers you can try that are nothing like your conventional beers etc.

Blue Moon (Canadian Wheat Beer)
Stone & Wood Pacific Ale (Byron Bay)

(I personally prefer these on tap. As most of you live in the more civilised part of Oz this shouldn't be a problem)

Just for the record I used to drink XXXX bitter religiously. Loved it when you could get $1 pots at Uni.
