Come and live in north west Queensland and see how you like it. I used to live in Brisbane and thought it was a good idea. It just doesn't work out here. Trying to get the bub to bed when it is blazing hot and bright isn't the best. Yes we have aircon and block out blinds, they are no substitute for the sun being under the horizon. I can't see why the coastal areas can't have their own time zone if it makes their quality of life better.

I vote NO! I am old enough to remember the trial they had in the 90's too; at the time I was living in FNQ (Atherton Tablelands) and it was not helpful, productive, saving, good, or better. But here's an idea for ppl who want it:

GET UP EARLIER!
Why do you need to make us (who already get up at daybreak or before) get up earlier for you? That's a little selfish if you ask me. If you want to start work an hour early and finish an hour early so you can go and play after work then why don't you talk to your workmates and bosses and see if you could just start at 7 instead of 8? Yes I know this isn't possible for everyone. I seem to remember Dad telling me that when he worked for Telecom they moved their work hours an hour early for this reason.

BTW, I still don't understand how is "saving" anything. I think it's just a false economy.

Good job. I went there a few years back, in October. What got me is that it feels like 7am ALL DAY! it was odd...

But the temp at midnight is not 40-45 degrees like in Western Queensland.
