the passing of an era

Chopper was definitely a "Hard Man", as hard as anyone...He had no fear.
He has always said that he never hurt an "innocent" man,...always kept his "activities" within the criminal area.
Definitely a dangerous man in his time, he did "mellow", but he never asked anyone for any favours, and sinse his death, even those Police who were responsible for "policing" him at various times, have shown substantial respect for him.
R.I.P. Chopper. Pickles.

if nothing else eric bana can thank him for providing the subject matter to launch his movie career.

At a guess what Brian is saying is that the criminal element police themselves to an extent, and that without enforcers taking care of thier own, the police and ambulance crews would have a lot more work on thier hands....
