you know that was when it was worth watching. Different teams with dreams, with different cars, capacities, and power. Nowdays they are all the same running gear, and if you find an advantage the team has to surrender it to the rest in the name of competition.

It's a marketing circus these days, and as boring as bat **** sadly.

Yes, very true, but it's the only way Ford or Holden can win, they have dumb down the competition to match the Holden and Ford:cool:

With any luck the new cars will spice things up, I doubt it though:(

Still a good excuse to sit in front of the telly all weekend and drink beer (not that an excuse is needed :D)

they sounded better then also!

there is nothing super about the super V8 - except the marketing.
when I first came to Aus, it was just before the Bathurst weekend, not knowing exactly what it was. Oh boy was that boring. and it went on and on and on and then on some more!

I then learnt that basicly the Japanesse came in and started winning and so the rules were changed so it was only Holden and Ford.

I guess it will be Opel and Ford in a few years time.
