    My father was amazing in that he could span across our car's spark plugs with his fingers, copping the lot without flinching. How do I know? He used to do this whilst leaning on the front mudguard, thus energizing the car. He would call me over to look into the running motor, and being a little kid I would lift my elbows and drop my arms on the mudguard to see in. I never got used to getting the belt through the soft underarms, and I took a while to wake up to dad too.
