I understand that the pre-season burn off was being put off recently as the conditions were too dangerous to undertake them.

Also, these fires are also happening before what is normally the fire season anyway aren't they?

It is scary to see what is happening in NSW so early in the season. Please remember under some conditions you cannot stay and defend. Best of luck and stay safe.

This was my view form the evacuation centre....

Ian came home early and was ready to move the dogs...Fire was 12k down the road and missing us but was concerns for a change in forecast wind was travelling NW if it changed to N it was expected to impact my area.

it did however come with in Meters of my mates house who i had warned her it was on the way by the time she got home they wouldnt let her in for her animals...I just went in about 40mins ago and got them and fires were still burning but were only smaller fires they were trying to douse out.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

our units been out all this week.monkeri hills.

had lots of out of area chaps locally that are now getting it.
did some repairs for a unit from apin and bargo .

lots of interest from work with people planning how to get home and possibly some hoax/incorrect messages.

I had this miss fortune of loosing a work shed last night.3 good units attended for 3.5 hours to stop the spread to other sheds.

full of tools ,P76,skyline bits and last of my new stock of 110 military stuff. bits I had in storage.
mum cleaned up my stuff I acquired over 30 years, scrap took it and declared bankrupcy---and what I salvaged I put in the shed--

fire started in grass next to shed [possibly] in arvo sun. neighbours heard massive explosions.one LPG tank, drive shafts shocks etc.-stainless boat tank and oil drums.

paper work and mag wheels/tyres fanned the fire.dad's new tractor was driven out of the shed minus a wheel.-head lights and seat melted.--finger prints now in the steering wheel.

I got our fire truck from the station before the 000 call page came through the system--and its hard to understand when your told to wait in a station for a non crew to arrive as they would be soon tasking 2 other units.

Its a great idea if you can to protect your home--but plan for the worse and be happy-----

90+ % of planned reductions occurred.so I heard on the radio...up from high 50%.we had 100% completion rate this year

we had very little luck getting organising fires due to weather over last 6 months and now due to that bad situation with roadside grass cutting team all slasher work has been suspended. our crew is now making fire trails and cleaning alone fence lines.

the amount of illegal reductions this year locally--Ide put the % guess at 200+.as locals loose faith with the paper work situation-but not with those on the ground thankfully..police have been involved lots this year.

the benefit we have over our city brothers is we mostly know our neighbours.. we been very happy that one state department was getting better and joining the real world.

That is as scary as it gets, without it being right upon you. Stay safe, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
