    Bushfires

Photos takes at about 3.30 this afternoon at our house 30ks from the Springwood / Winmalee fire. The winds here are very strong and gusty. Our thoughts are with all those caught up in this, especially the Fire Fighters. Conditions are too windy for aerial water bombing at present.

wow that looks intense. we currently have 6 fires in the area but most are under control but 2 in behind us(a fair way still) are out of control.
There was one that flamed up again today from sunday night near lake st clair backing on to our old property( 3rd fire there in 9 months).
the forecast tomorrow looks like it should help but the next week is very unstable.

Some scum has been lighting them behind the Gold Coast, near the edge of Canungra Land Warfare Centre, my young bloke has been out with the local RFS guys fighting them. Good Luck.

    Not good looking!

With the wind we had here until a short while ago, I have been hoping nobody is silly and there is no lightning! At 1pm we had wind of 39kph, gusting 59kph, 30C humidity 10% - and lots of nice dry fuel.

I've had 2 warnings from the RFS so far.Was talking to a young RFS bloke just down the road and depending on how far the fire comes down to the river,I might have to evacuate.

    cheers

Hmm those pictures bring back a few memories. That particular fire was only about two kilometres away. I hope it stays ok for you. On the news tonight things are really bad around Sydney.

The sky here is black with smoke, no real fire danger, but still a worry, we have found burnt leaves in the yard, obviously dropped by the wind from the fires ?? up past Singleton, bit of worry though with 5 vehicles under tarps, anyway stay safe and alert, cheers Dennis
