Increasing number of motorists crashing into homes and shops lately

Any one else noticed the increase of people driving their cars into shop windows and into houses?. It's becoming far too often over the last few months.
Usually the eldery driver mistaking the brake for the accelorator, and them drive Into shops.
The young and old ploughing into bedrooms or fronts of houses.
Now today a 40 year old woman into a bakery. Are there too many extractions for drivers or what is causing this increasing amount of accidents. So far no one has been killed luckily

May be it's that new fandangled " Hands free Parking assist" that manufacturers are building into cars.
The Berwick one today she reversed all the way into the bakery and just the had her cars grille poking out.

Had a car drive into the lounge room of a neighbours house a few doors up, a few years back while living in Thomastown. Dead straight road, but the driver tried to turn into the side street where he lived at around 80 (in a 60 zone). When we (and half the neighbourhood) went to see what the huge bang was, we found an old ****ter of a Falcon buried deep in the house. No one home and no one hurt. Driver was wandering drunkenly back to his house.

Police turned up and asked if anyone saw and knew the driver. An old lady who had lived there for ever piped up - "yes, that was such and suches boy from number 33 - I think he was drunk"

Which he was, and was arrested shortly after.

Another one across the road from the high school my son goes to - rolled up just after it happened, but everyone had just finished school for the day and there were several hundred witnesses. P plater dropped a big burn out on a speed bump to impress the kiddies, once he got off the rubber speed bump onto the road again, he got traction and speared off into a local house. To the house owners credit, once the insurance company had temporarily boarded up the front of the house, he spray painted "NO PARKING" on the boards...

Doesn't matter what you do and how you try and stop them, there are just idiots out there every day. More people on the roads equals more idiots on the road equals more homes and shop fronts with cars parked in them.

Not saying its not true, but where did you get the statistic the rate is increasing?

Or does it just seem that way?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

The "increase" is entirely due to the ability of the internet to spread accident stories. Cars have been crashing into buildings since forever. Lookit at what I found on the internetz:
