    130 Defender ute PTO

Hello all, I'm new to the forum, so please bear with me if I make mistakes, but don't hesitate to correct me. I've had 2 110 County wagons, both with 4BD1 engines. The first was turbocharged. I've still got both(21 yrs for this one), and both now have approx 590,000km on them. No major problems I didn't cause! They last well, for sure! I just bought a 1995 built 130 ute to use for my work ute (I'm a mobile diesel fitter). Has anyone got any info on PTO's for the R380 boxes? I think they are a lot like the old series units. I want to drive an air compressor with it. Thanks in advance, Rob.

Can't help I'm afraid but that'd be cool.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

G'day Rob, About time you got on here!
The pto you are after is one that fits the transfer case (LT230 in this case) They are scarce but you do see one come up occasionally on places like e-bay. Great idea using it for a compressor, I have been contemplating doing the same for some time now by adding a pulley onto the winch drive shaft....Brian

    Hey mate

Maxi-Drive Land Rover accessories, Land Rover used parts, Land Rover spare parts suppliers for Brisbane, Queensland and Australia wide

These guys sell the Maxi Drive kit, can you post up some pics if you go through with it. I've been meaning to do the same thing for years but never had the money or time spare to do it

Can an air con compressor do the job. If your not using the standard air con than the mount + a compressor could be used to fill a tank somewhere. Not exactly sure how it all works, just heard it bandied around before. Certainly not as cool as a PTO but a lot cheaper I'd say.

A neighbour of mine has a pto on his Defender that drives a hydraulic pump for a small hiab. I know he got the pto from overseas somewhere. I'll see if I can catch up with him and find out more for you.
