The solo squad referred to in the article ride KTM's. Unfortunately there is not enough of them to patrol all the areas regularly.

No I was suggesting that they only have to have a regular highway patrol car monitoring the access roads doing regular patrol duties and when they see a trailer with bikes entering the forest they inform the Solo squad by radio where they're heading.

It will narrow the search for the solo squad a bit.

Unfortunately not. I'd like to see a lot more of this, but, but I guess the expense out ways the need.

Yeah, I could see how this would work. Good idea. They could even take a pick/vid of clean bikes going in, and dirty bikes coming out.
I watched a program where they were doing this just on the streets,, Sydney maybe (?). Personally, I can't understand why they don't push to do this both on a much larger scale, and, a whole lot more often. Bikes sneaking through traffic, they would soon sort the riff raff out.

I have seen them a few times now in the bush on there bikes,we have had no probs with them they had go pros on there helmets and filmed number plates as we were going past,most the times they have been pulling over bikes looking for bikes with no rec reg and licenses,the 4x4s I have seen pulled over were un engineered gq cut into utes ,the defender on 35's has been ok so far

Yes, wish they would do same in Wombat State Park.

Lots of unregistered trail bikes there.

They need to do more of this over here too. Plenty of drunk yobs 4x4ing with beer in one hand and steering wheel in the other...

They do. Often.
Not so much a blitz, More while the boys are at play, they are checked out.

Where I grew up in Vic they used to ride XR600's. And then later on DR400's
