Well finally it is resolved! Land rover Limited Warranty replaced my rear diff and the worn RH rear axle due to worn splines. Persistence and tips in the above thread got me across the line. Very pleased as my Landy is running like a new vehicle now and the local Landrover dealership has been fantastic with supporting me through the process.
Following on from the LR Limited Warranty which expired 3 months after I purchased my second hand Landy, I have looked at the option of purchasing an Extended Mechanical Warranty to safe guard me against any future issues. Has anyone had experience with companies they could recommend or PM me if posting via reply is not allowed?
Thanks again to everyone that responded.

There are two types of aftermarket warranty.
There is the one operated by companies which are a stand alone type operation. These usually have a clause in them which states that all and any claims may be rejected by them at any time. There is no legislation covering these warranties so stay away from these.
The other type are the ones easily identified because they are underwritten by an insurance company. You have lot of built in protection with these type of warranties because they come under insurance legislation. In the past I have experienced great, no hassle service with claims from Swan Insurance.
