Unfortunately this is a people issue, people who would like all greyhounds to be re-homed, people who disagree with the treatment of greyhounds but do nothing about it, people who don't care, people who get paid a lot of money to turn these dogs over.

I find it amusing people who raise their animals to such high levels. It is only a personal paradigm that dictates one animal is mans best friend and another is food. I have chickens, not dogs. If your dog was to enter my yard should I allow it to kill them all just because they are chickens and the dog is part of your family. I guess I must be an idiot by your definition for not holding your personal opinion, but I guarantee the dog would not harm my kids chickens.

Unfortunately opinions are like camrys, everyone has one.

I agree that the greyhound industry has a lot to answer for regarding the treatment of these dogs, do I think this is going to happen in the near future, No.

And for what it is worth, nobody else sees the value of your dog more then you and expecting others too is an exercise in futility.
Perhaps I am a little jaded in my opinion, but dealing with people's perfect animals everyday because they do the wrong thing, while the owner abuses you and blames everything and everyone else because they can't fathom that their dog is an untrained, unexercised and spoilt, or just unable to fathom that they aren't providing the best for their dog.

Before everyone labels me a dog hater, the only reason I don't have a dog is yard size and time. At this stage owning a dog would be unfair on the animal. Funny how sometimes you respect dogs enough not to own one.

true, same situation here , would love a kelpie , heeler or border collie but totally unfair on the dog, in fact i wonder how many people consider having children using similar criteria???

Grey hound racing used to be the working mans folly, I know a few in the game, they love their dogs, treat them like their children. Not one of them would harm a dog. Just shows what happens when big money gets involved. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

We have rescued a few dogs from puppy farmers.
And the prisons are now doing a rehabilitation process where the prisoners are rehabilitated with the introduction of the responsibility and love from a dog being bought into their lives. 100% success rate for both parties.

On the Puppy Farm topic, here comes Christmas, and all the morons buying a puppy or kitting as a present that will all be euthanised mid year next year when they grow up or become a 'problem' when they aren't trained properly.
