I would think it is possible.
I have 4X4XFAR as custom plates on my Rangie (SA). I used to have the same plates in the NT.
Whats the go.
It is possible for a vehicle of the same make and model to have the same number plates, but in a different state.
Lets take a example of ....... Hot FJ..... personalised number plates on a FJ Holden in NSW and someone asking for and getting the same plates for a FJ Holden in another state.........even in the same colour plates.
To my way of thinking it would be possible to be booked via speed camera or even being placed at a crime because of vehicles of same make and model having the same number plates???????
What happened to a National roads rules and regulations ??????
I think it could have implications for anyone trying to fine owners of any of the vehicles.
Any opinions.

I know its possible.
But whats the legal angle and practical angle.
Road toll cameras could send bills to wrong people if someone doesn't have a E tag.........etc
Happens all the time, not just plates. A mate (NSW) has the same name and date of birth as a QLD truck driver, my mate has never been booked. He gets a letter from RTA (NSW) that his license has been cancelled due to his driving record. Turns out that the QLD truckie has been booked a few times in NSW and the tickets went on my mates driving record. My mate could only get the record cleaned by getting the QLD truckie to sign a stat dec that the fines were his. My mate was, at the time, a NSW Highway Patrol cop.
Yep. It's possible. I know of three 101's that have the numberplate LR-101.
One has additional letters "SA", another has additional letters "VIC" and the other has additional letteres "NSW".
Road laws and regulations are far from National at this stage. Registration is still very much state based. My "club permit" is not recognised in WA and my "exempt trailer" plate is not recognised outside Victoria.
A fellow I worked with got a fine form Citylink. It was sorted out easily when he pointed out the photo was not of his car.
These camera thingys are always stuffing up. If you get one that is not right, challenge it. Send them an invoice for your time and expenses for "quality checking" their equipment.
If it gets to court (which I doubt it will get that far), point out those additional letters on the plate ("VIC", "NSW", "QLD") and point out they did not practice "due diligence".
I think just thinking a interstate 101 style ram raid on a ATM or jewelly shop could be in order................
Will the real 101 step forward
Hey Mick I was not trying to mention the number plates in question.
