    Insurance Woes

    Grover is bein gtransfered into my name soon, and I was looking into insurance.

    As you know we have just bought a house, so we insured that with AAMI, along with the missus car.

    Now here comes the problem, the engine. I have a Holden engine in Grover, and AAMI won't insure anything with an engine in it not designed for that vehicle. Now the reason that I looked here was because of the discounts for having it all at AAMI. I could easily insure it without telling them, but can't they bail out of the insurance if I claim, and they found that I didn't tell them?

    Options and suggestions are welcome.

    IME aami will go to extraordinary lengths to save 1 buck on a claim.

    i would not insure a wheel barrow with them.

    have you tried http://www.justcarinsurance.com.au/info.asp

    these are a part of AAMI - so they may group your discounts.

    They also advetise upto 10 modifications no worries.

    Thanks fot the hint michael.

    I just got off the phone to Just cars, and the result, $300 a year (3rd party). If it had the original engine, it would only be $112 with AAMI (and similar elsewhere I guess). A bummer, but a fact of life. Maybe I should go back to the original engine? Save on insurance [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif[/img]

    What does everyone else pay?
