very lucky , good that you did decide to go to the drs after all
2am Thursday morning, had a sharp pain in my right side. Managed to get back to sleep, and woke up and went to work, with pain still in right side.
Decided while driving around for work to take myself off to my doctors. He sent me to emergency with suspected appendicitis.
Get to Emergency, they read the doctors letter, and 5 minutes later im in a cubicle being prodded and having bloods taken. after 20 minutes surgeon comes down... prods, and tells me that they are going to rip out the offending appendix.
30 minutes later im on the slab, out to it with the surgeon doing his job.
Couple of hours later im back on the ward, in a different sort of pain.
Surgeon came by the next morning and advised that I was lucky as the Appendix was on the verge of popping.
Thanks to everyone at the Modbury Hospital here in Adelaide for everything they did.
So now I have a week off work to recover..
Cheers

Modbury!!!
well good they sorted you out fast![]()
Glad to hear you found it, and it was taken care of quickly.
Modbury hospital have always been great with us. Even putting up with my hospital hating wife when she had septicemia, and kept trying to discharge herself.![]()
Hmm fairly close to twenty five years since mine was removed. Not long married, inflammation of the appendix was by both mine and her family's blamed on the new wife's cooking. Two weeks of back then and a week in hospital. Was even longer for my brother who had his removed in the nineteen seventy`s when he was real young. Was a bit painful straightening up the first few times from memory.

Close escape, well done, but be careful of the morphine - it can get addictive.
the only drugs they gave me was panadol, as I wasnt complaining about pain.
Cheers

It is surprising how events shape your life. Two of my uncles were taken prisoner in Singapore. Uncle Jim came down with appendicitis and was operated on in the prison hospital. After recovery he was discharged and at the same time his brother John went in and was operated on for the same problem. During his recovery all the prisoners were taken north while he stayed behind. Uncle Jim never returned from Sandarkan while uncle John saw out the war in Singapore.
