I'd time it so that you get a relaxing soak at Mataranka.
Relax. Read a good book such as "We of the Never Never".
Hi everyone. I am leaving darwin for good and heading back home to Sunbury Victoria. My wife and I will be taking the defender. Just some after some advice - what would u recommend seeing on the way. We have seen kings canyon and Uluru. Also done most things in the darwin region. Any advice will be appreciated.

I second the Daly waters pub and stay the night well worth it![]()
The track south (from near Timber Creek) through the Gregory National Park is a good way to cover part of the distance, you can then go south through the Tanami Desert and pick up the Tanami track near Rabbit Flat, although a permit may be required to go that way down.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. The Tanami track sounds good. Will have to do some more research. We are thinking of getting down to the centre fast (but seeing the devils marbles on the way) and then spending time in the macdonalds and flinders ranges.
Then end with a nice stay in the Barossa valley.
Still ironing out the details.
2 weeks is not enough time!![]()
