    Tyres

Has anyone out there had experience with Kumho tyres on Disco 3 18 inch rims?

I have been fairly happy with the two sets of Pirelli Scorpions my car has gone through but they become very susceptible to punctures after 30,000km. Met a bloke in Brisbane who had Kumhos and said that they were far better than the Pirellis he had used before.

Depends on which kumho it is. If it's the Solus ones avoid them like the plague. Mine needed replacing after just 7000 km's. Even kumho told me they are not made for Aus conditions.

I have the Kumho Solus KL21 in a 265/60 x 18 size. They are definitely not an extreme off road tyre, and I have lost 2 to blowouts on bitumen ( tek screws ) Mine have about 15-20000 on them, and given the tread depth remaining, I think they will be pretty much gone by 30000klms. They have the speed rating, are pretty much noiseless, and handle well in the wet or dry. I think they are better than the OE fitted Goodyears, and are certainly cheaper. I will have a good hard look though, before I put them back on.
