Yes... until the early morning crack of the 12 guage shotgun! Nice wakeup call.

I remember when i was a lad (long time ago!!!)we went up to lake eildon(Vic)with a youth group camping and one of the leaders was in the army reserves or something and he brought up a heap of practice grenades and let them off at 6.00am each morning, now thats what i call a wake up call!!!! 8O

We got woken up very early one morning by these really loud booms one after the other... and we looked over to the east and saw massive flashes of light... and then it dawned on us where we were..... We were camped in the bushland across from Shoal Water Bay and the F111's were doing night bombing missions at 3 in the morning.

Got to see the F111 fly past the landrover in the middle of a field at about 100 metres away and about 60 metres above the ground using its ground tracking radar. Quite an experience!

That exact thought was going through our heads at the time! We were in the Ex-Army Landy so I would hazard a guess and say that they were checking us out while on exercises.
