I just used a couple of old 100 watt rectangular driving lights I had lying around. If I was buying something new, I'd go a 27 watt LED on each side.

Here's a pic of the whole bar before I mounted it.

Here are photos of one of my Unity lights. They are model 330H and side roof fitting on a Land Rover require a #1 Installation kit.

This is a 100 watt QH lamp. You could get another model with a longer shaft if you wanted more "stick out" when extended. The light head can be rotated 360 degrees by twisting the handle and lowered or elevated by turning the handle fore or aft. The head can be extended or retracted by sliding in the mounting bracket.

These are very well made high quality items. Fitted to most law enforcement and many other government vehicles in the USA, and common on heavy trucks.

A steerable spotlight is very handy for dealing with the ****** who come up behind you and leave their headlights on high beam.

Steerable spotlights are great for, umm, spotlighting too.
(Those don't look steerable enough for the latter purpose though).

Nah just looking for a simple on/off solution a la taxi lights.

Jesus wept! How steerable do you want them? These rotate 360 degrees, extend and retract and turn up and down from in front to behind.

Go to Supercrap and get a couple of cheap Chinee plastic spread beams or work lights.

Vlad, I got 3 of the 27watt square ones up top that can rotate 360 degrees, the 4th I used as a reverse light. 4 of them cost me $189 bucks off fleabay a few years back but I'm sure you can get them at a better price these days. I use them for setting up camp if its dark but to run them as camp lights there a bit strong and attract heaps of bugs...
They are very handy for searching around for a spot to camp for the night when travelling, and also I sometimes run 2 front ones at about 45 degree angle as driving lights which is handy in roo areas, the roos will pretty well always run to the light and I feel this helps keep them away from in front of the truck.
Fitted two little 10w jobbies today to use under the awning as camp lights but one aint goin'? could be a polarity thing, will investigate more tomorrow.
Couldn't be happier with the 27watters and would recomend them for sure.
    Hope this helps.
