Mine's an Impco, fitted within a few months of the build date.
Definately not a Ford/Tickford then as they were all a Vialle system.

Just another aftermarket install, making the LPG read on the petrol tank is an old trick as LPG sender units are made to suit a wide range of OEM fuel gauges. It's no more complicated than having a relay switching the senders when the gas is powered up.

Still typical of every Fairlane I've owned, the fuel gauge is acurate to +/- 50%.

My gauge was very good, probably due to it being a Tickford conversion.

The Hi Ace dual fuel/LPG guage is great as well, although sometimes after filling up it takes a while to react and go to full.

Tickford used the same "Axiom" brand LPG senders everyone else used. Senders are a wear item and usually need replacing around 100K to 150K to be reliable.
