Thread: SCG test match 1954

This was the only time I ever attended a cricket match as a spectator.
Yesterdays perfomance by Mitchel Johnson reminded me of it.

Ray Lindwall hit Frank Tyson with a bumper and sent him off to hospital.
Following day Frank came out firing and took six wickets and won the match.
By crikey he was fired up, the pitch smoked and was scorched with each delivery. Me an cousin Dave were gob smacked just watching it.
England won the series that year I think 3-1.
From memory Frank later migrated here and was a school teacher.

wow, that is fantastic! And 29 years before I was born.
