    D2 jack

    Does anybody know how to strip the red bottle jack down

    I have anaged to push the rubber bung into the bottle

    No its easy if it is a plastic body one.
    Maybe first empy out the oil
    First knock the top curved bit off by putting it across a vice and hitting the centre with a punch. It is pretty loose so be ready to catch the jack.

    Next knock the collar around by using a pin punch or grab it with a set of multigrips and undo.
    the whole body will then lift off and you can recover your plug. The body may be a bit tight at first as ther eis an Oring at the top and a big gasket all around teh bottom, but maybe give it a couple of twists.

    Be careful not to damage either gasket as the top oring is very skinny and not generally available and the bottom one is a specific gasket.

    Find your plug inside and reverse the procedure and refill to the filler hole with some oil. I used power steering fluid in mine.

    OK its a bit harder with a metal body one.
    Go to the bottom of the page and google D2 jack repair and you will find a post with a how to for the metal body with pictures by Blacknight.
