TV aerial guy North Brisbane ? recommendations?

Im at Bracken Ridge, and TV reception in the new house is crap.

There are 3 wall plugs in the house and all are bad. At the moment I can ONLY get channel 7 ! That's all !

We are in a single storey and there are 2 storey houses either side, but not TOO close. I did see that the TV aerial is very close to our roof.

I'm wondering whether, with the change to digital etc, a new aerial may be required. Also perhaps a signal booster due to the number of plugs in the house ?

I don't know all that much about it and don't want to get ripped, so if anyone can recommend a good bloke / company that does this sort of thing that'd be great !

Oh I also have a quality powered stand alone digital antennae thingy (for use where there are no sockets) and it worked pretty well in the old house and very poorly here so signal strength here can't be too flash.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    Vlad,
Before you head too far down the path of a new aerial take a look at boosted splitters and the like.
My terminology might be a little off, but I was in my local Hi-Fi place telling them of my woes and the guy behind the counter handed me this $70 powered device to plug in and try out. If it didn't work I was free to bring it back. It worked.
Funny thing is that when I moved to my new place a couple of months back I plugged it in and found that almost nothing worked. It turns out that you can have too much signal. Once I disconnected the power all reception was perfect.
I'm sure you could find a similarly helpful operator over your way.

My place had a monster aerial on the roof which fed the regular analogue channels to the idiot box, and signal was always poor on everything other than channel 2, and that was only OK. Put on a set top box and digital was almost unwatchable on any channel. Just before the analogue signal was cut off I put up a totally new digital ready antenna on a new pole. The signal is now perfect across all digital channels. Best thing I ever did.

If its like everything else in the house I very much suspect the aerial as it will be 20 years old....

Thanks mated I'll give him a go.

On an aside why does every tradie / delivery person etc etc assume you can be home from work during the week to get this stuff done.....

It's my neighbour and one of my best mates. It's exactly what he does for a living. He'd definitely be able to fix it, but to be honest he's busy lighting the fire and all us neighbours are heading over for more drinks soon. So a call now might not be very professionally answered.
We are in Eatons Hill, he is a husband/wife team.
    Hope he can help
    Kenley
