Roy Orbison is right at the top of my favourite artist list. He has indeed a unique voice, the only other singer that I can think of that comes anywhere near him is Gene Pitney.
The Travelling Wilbury's in which of cause Roy Orbison was one of the singers is also right up there in my view.:D

ps. Hey DM, just watched the Travelling Wilbury's clip and I thought "where is Roy Orbison?" then I noticed a rocking chair with a guitar in it and the camera threw to a picture of Roy on the wall and I realised that when they sang that song the Big O was dead!!
Good choice with Gene Pitney, Jim.

Yet another tack. I love both Banjo's And Henry Lawson's works and these guys present them well.

Not Gene Pitney Ian :no2:
If you are a big Roy Orbison fan like me you must have the "Black And White Night" cd /dvd in your collection ??
If not go and buy it :) An amazing party come concert for Roy's 50th I think. All the guests only had a day or two to learn the songs.
Here's a snippet to wet your appetite
