A 4x4 Jimny hire car in Broome that we drove to the oyster farm, and, now I have modern euro cars, a Land Rover Defender. No other vehicle makes you feel so alone in the North West It's about as safe and as modern as a T Rex and drives and rides like a T Ford. A total heap of ****. Best move we ever made was to get shut of it, as TaTa should A.S.P. I think I would rather take the bus.

Lada Niva one of the best. Only minor problems with mine. The best seats I've used.
As opposed to modern Fords I end up with a back ache for a week, even after only a few Kms. VH Commodore not much better.
My 2007 TDV8 Range Rover is a $170,000 vehicle that has never worked.
I bought it new and 24 hours after driving it out of the showroom it started failing and it was not long after that that I found out you don’t get a warranty with a new Land Rover.
This is my 6th new Land Rover and my last.
It has never worked properly in the 6 years I have owned it and it is sitting in my back yard right now with a broken front diff.
Not only the worst 4 by 4 by far but a guy on another forum summed the RR up with this comment.
His father had had 2 Range Rovers and they were the ultimate off roaders.
They spent more time off road being repaired than any other vehicle.
And my RR is exactly the same.

Worst - probably a 1935 Vauxhall belonging to a friend when we were at university. Cable operated brakes that never worked the same twice in a row, usually only one wheel braked. Its replacement, a 1934 Ford V8 had lousy brakes, but at least you knew what to expect.
Of relatively new vehicles, the worst would be a Hino Contessa hire car I had in Wewak in 1969. The venture into car production by a well known truck manufacturer seems to have ben short lived. Rear engined, and probably Renault related, it was less than a year old, but despite this you could see the road through the rust holes in the floor, and the outer door panels were only attached at the window sill.
Allan - obviously unfamiliar with the T Ford. Not clear whether you are comparing a Jimny or a Defender to them but having learnt to drive in one, I can say neither comparison is remotely valid.

holden crewman, worst b lind spots ive ever had to deal with and most disconnected I have felt from the vehicle, accelerator had a mind of its own. got rid of it after 3 months
