1980 or 81 ford cortina 4.1 6cyl my father had as a company car. It broke down( as in needing towing) 18 times in 18 monthsliving in Sutherland he worked in Wollongong for a housing company, before we moved here and we went to school in Wollongong . He lost 1st and 3rd gear halfway home so was grinding gears all the lights. Oil seal blew 2-3 times covering windscreen in oil at 110kph
. Stop or cook engine. Radiator blew about 2 k's from home got towed by mum , electrical issues like alternator and fuel pump . This was a brand new car and absolute POS .
Mechanic said it was worst put together car he had ever seen![]()
Aah! the good old TC 4.1 Cortina, had one of those come through a stop sign (from my left) at Mascot in 76 and wrote off my BMW R60 and Sidecar with my new girlfriend and her daughtertotalled the DJP chair and broke her ankle in a couple of places, rolled the Cortina the middle aged woman not displaying "P" plate pleaded "No Understand English" I had owned the outfit 8 days
I was lucky it was insured, the ankle only gives the "Management" trouble on cold winter days.

TC was earlier, the TE was about 78 and TF 80 or 81, i had a 2ltr auto TC that i couldnt kill. The 6cyl was pretty hard on the chassis and brakes of the Corty but they were quick.
For me the worst would have to be the 1990 2.4 auto DC hilux my dad bought as a work vehicle, gutless thirsty twitchy ****box it was - should have kept the Mitsi L300 van that he put a 2ltr sigma motor in.
MY08 TDV6 SE D3- permagrin ooh yeah
2004 Jayco Freedom tin tent
1998 Triumph Daytona T595
1974 VW Kombi bus
1958 Holden FC special sedan
All I can remember was the 4.1 badge on the lower front guard as I went over the top of it to land VERY hard on the road after it passed and rolled, dark red thing it was, her insurance wrote it off, it was also insured in his name and they repaired it (Waltons),it caught fire several months later in his yard

Hmmm....
Driven Saab petrol turbo, Landrover Discovery 2 V8 auto, Landrover Discovery 2 Td5 auto, Subaru Liberty 3.0l NA, 2001 Toyota Echo rubber band 4 speed auto, 2006 ZD30 D22 Navara, worked 300tdi auto D1.....
Honestly, the best was probably the Navara. Punchy, steers very well, comfortable, economical, etc. Only thing I don't like is the steering wheel blocks my view of the dash, but the Disco does that too.
300tdi auto was like driving a block of flats pushed by a slave, echo is, as stated, competent at it's purpose, but not outstanding in any way.
V8 was fun, but too unreliable, Liberty goes like the clappers and has a superb stereo but the seats are so uncomfortable....Saab turbo was comfortable and super punchy, but quirky so took a while to get used to, but I'd happily own one.
Td5 D2 is the most fun to drive
So worst is probably the echo, not because it's a bad car, but because it's just so.........dull....
