My pride and joy... a brand-new Hx/z Holden V8. 4.2 litre (253") carby... relatively gutless and thirsty.... which makes me feel at home in the Classic
Great handling and pin-point steering, pass any Moose-Test, but,,, and a very big but... seating was diabolical, I'd last 10 to 15 minutes at a stretch before the pain set in. First of their 'full-foam' bucket seats... Total FAIL. NO support for the right leg, no matter what you did, or how many cushions etc underneath. We won't discuss how the back felt afterwards.
I still can't believe that I drove that thing to Adelaide/return. - Well, spent long stretches with water containers jammed on the accelerator, and sitting cross-legged, or even betweent the front seats.... Yep, it was that bad.
If you can't sit comfortably enough to drive it... you can't drive it safely...

Traded it in for a '74 Passat, thin, hard cheap-looking seats... They were superb, even after 28 hours straight.

Every other car I've owned, from XR falcon (base model) to the Classic has had 1,000% better seats, benches as well as buckets. Event the Honda Scamp (360cc) was superior...

I'd rate the Mazda van, Pajero and Classic as having the best seats.

We had an old Army Jeep on the farm that was pretty ordinary. Steering was so vague you just twirled the wheel and hoped, it kept jumping out of gear and the brakes had been omitted when it was built. Eventually, when parked on a hill one day it simply rolled away over a cliff and was impossible to retrieve, not that we were very keen, so we just left it at the bottom of a valley. It's probably still there.

In order of worst to.. least worst.

    VK bommodore v8
    Kia rio
    Hyundai ... (the small one)
    99 holden jackaroo

The 24/80 Wolsely drove better than all of these, and so did a 70's chrysler.

Best car I've driven would be an early l322, or (for fun factor) a peugot 308 HDI that'd been chipped. 0-100 in 5.3 seconds, and 3.9 l/100kph, and it really glued to the road!

Up until about the Commodores - Holden ALWAYS had the reputation of having some of the worst seats in the business. I can't remember how many different Holdens I had which had the front seats removed and replaced with something decent.

I had a HQ wagon for years - fitted bucket seats out of a rolled Ford LTD in that. Also had a very modified FB panel van with Chev 327 V8 for quite a while - that had seats out of something Euro (can't remember what they came out of). My EH had seats out of a Chrysler Centura, another Holden I had was fitted with bucket seats out of about a TC Cortina .............. just about anything else on the road had better seats than original Holden seats.

First Holden I ever owned that I left the original seats in was a VL Commodore - prior to that, they were just rubbish.
    Cheers .........

Yeah, we had an old Kingswood and the seats were awful, like the rest of the car.

hard call, I don't know if it is because they are hirer cars or not but any of the small modern cars that are hired shocking understeer, dangerously gutless, I'm 5'10" and can barely squeeze into them. It's not a particular brand either as they all seem the same to me. As far as specific brand, I had a Toyota Camry work car (2010) that I hated with a passion, but it was reliable which was it's only redeeming feature.

A mid-90's Buick Skylark!!! Hateful things!!!

However, the Lada Niva comes a very close second. Although the gearbox was like stirring a bag of nails, it did at least have character.

I'd vote for the Mitsubishi Delica (4th generation in this case, but probably all of them!)

Nothing good about it, low, slow, noisy, uncomfortable and drinks more than a mob of builders in the pub a 3:30pm on a Friday

I think the Lada Nivas have it!
I have never driven one but read about the steering box cracking if you tried to turn the wheels on an obstacle.
The mongrel Child of Fiat and Lada and the counter trade of Russian "steel " for Italian " auto technology". Inverted commas to illustrate the futility of such an enterprise which resulted in ALL or most anyway Lancia Betas sold in Britain being bought back as their subframes collapsed from rust.
